Montelena
Jd. Paulistano, São José do Rio Preto – SP, Brasil
Located in the southern region of São José do Rio Preto, in the interior of São Paulo state, Montelena stands out for its layout of two offset blocks that articulate the relationship between public and private spaces. Occupying a 3,150 m² plot, the residential development is situated in an area of the city undergoing a process of urban verticalization.
The Rubra and Áurea towers, oriented toward the city skyline, feature facades with simple, geometric lines. Both buildings have spacious terraces with glass railings surrounding the social areas, offering continuous views, abundant natural light, and cross ventilation.
The subtly rotated architecture of the terraces not only protects the bedrooms and living rooms from direct sunlight but also creates spaces with double-height ceilings, giving the complex a distinctive formal identity.
At ground level, creating an interface between the street and the project, is a double-height lobby that connects the two towers through an inviting entrance. In front of the building entrance, the setback expands the public walkway and facilitates the arrival of residents and visitors.
The layout of the buildings, separated by a change in level, resolves flow and security issues without the need for walls or fences.
