Carandá Educação School
R. Joaquim de Almeida, Mirandópolis, São Paulo, Brasil
The project for Carandá Vivavida Educação, developed by Königsberger Vannucchi for the developer Patrimônio, was carried out using the BTS (Built to Suit) system, with cost and deadline optimization as a central premise. Located on a 3,275.18 m² plot, the project seeks to balance the individuality and collectiveness of each school stage through its architectural solutions.
Serving students from nursery to high school, Carandá organizes its spaces to encourage interaction among different age groups, with circulation areas oriented toward a garden in the central atrium. The use of precast concrete throughout the structural system enables visual permeability between floors, which are arranged by educational level, fostering dialogue between children and teenagers.
The project also incorporates bioclimatic and sustainable architectural strategies, including natural ventilation, solar energy capture, rainwater reuse, and a green roof. The landscaping was designed to integrate indoor and outdoor areas, using plant species that support pedagogical practices.
Externally, the façades emphasize the project’s visual permeability, with the use of colours and geometric shapes that highlight open spaces and integration across the building’s levels.
