Bus Terminal
Interior of São Paulo, Brazil
Located on a sloped site and strategically positioned alongside a major city thoroughfare—one of the main development hubs in the state of São Paulo—the terminal is structured across overlapping levels that organize its diverse program, with circulation routes connecting the spaces and their respective functions.
On the lower level, where the bus boarding and drop-off platforms are located, the elevated structure on pilotis frees the ground for bus circulation. The upper slab features openings that allow natural light to filter through and create visual connections between the different levels.
At ground level, a large plaza welcomes and organizes pedestrian flows, connecting to a generous commercial area. Composed of reflecting pools and lush landscaping, the plaza acts as a transitional element between the terminal and surrounding leisure and gathering areas. Between the built volumes, strategic voids and walkways create visual dialogues across levels, establishing fluid pathways and continuous integration with the urban context.
The volumes are clad with perforated metal panels in a random pattern, which not only gives the façade a strong graphic presence but also ensures natural ventilation and solar control for interior spaces such as parking areas and retail units—providing both functionality and visual identity to the complex.
